You can expect a brief overview of the regulation, the three steps to compliance and how to achieve it in a large organisation.
European CommissionWhat is the European Accessibility Act?

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) aims to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability or age, can access and utilise certain digital products and services.

What falls under the EAA?
  • Computers and operating systems
  • ATMs, ticketing and check-in machines
  • Telephones and smartphones
  • TV equipment related to digital television services
  • Telephony services and related equipment
  • Audiovisual media services, such as television broadcast and related consumer equipment
  • Services related to air, bus, rail and waterborne passenger transport
  • Banking services
  • eBooks
  • eCommerce

When does the EAA come into effect?

From 28th June 2025, digital products and services will need to be accessible for people with a disability and the elderly. *

What does the EAA mean for organisations?

If you provide digital products or services in the EU, regardless of where you are based, you must comply with the regulations. *

Failure to comply may result in:

  • A class A fine (€5,000) or imprisonment of up to 6 months or both
  • A fine of up to €60,000 or imprisonment of up to 18 months or both
